About The Artist
Debbie Bucci lives in Wilmington, NC and after 25 years in Package Design and Prepress, has emerged as a Professional Fine Artist. She has a degree in Design from Drexel University and studied painting under John Formicola. Her compositions are uplifting and connectable due to her sensitivity to the human spirit.
Bucci is a published Illustrator and has a refined eye for color and composition from many years evaluating packaging and print quality. Following college, she represented Binney & Smith as a demonstrator for Liquitex, their acrylic paint product. She paints in both oil and acrylic and is passionate about using undiluted colors and frequently mixes paints from pigments. Her preference is to paint on large canvas, 3 foot square and larger.
Her work is inspired by hundreds of gifted artists working in diverse mediums. Two particular favorites are Henri Rousseau for his dreamy jungles and Antoni Gaudi for his organic and over-the-top architecture.
Bucci is an anchor artist for Art in Bloom Gallery in Wilmington, NC. Her work has been shown at the Wilmington Airport and can be seen in ongoing shows and select restaurants in downtown Wilmington. Her work is featured in Fortune 500 companies and private collections throughout the U.S.
